She opens the door and Plutarch the other person in the room , Haymitch and Finnick explain the rebel plan. A whole bunch of different districts were in on it. The goal was to take Katniss out of the arena alive. Since Katniss badly wanted Peeta to live the tributes had to keep Peeta alive to keep Katniss alive. They wanted Katniss to be the mockingjay. Katniss gets pissed at Haymitch because he promised that Peeta would stay alive and she would die.
But also because she finds out that Peeta was taken to the Capitol with Johanna. She also learns that Brutus killed Chaff and so Peeta killed Brutus. So that leaves Johanna, Peeta and Enobaria in the Capitol. Then Finnick, Katniss and Beetee got taken by the rebels. Then the next time Katniss wakes up because the rebels injected something in her to make her pass out she's with Gale and he tells her that there is no more District I give that helps! Despite his shortcomings, Haymitch serves as a very human and intermittently likable mentor figure for Katniss and Peeta.
Haymitch knows the importance of creating a persona, and encourages Katniss to go along with the romance plot introduced by Peeta. There can be two male mentors or two female mentors, though usually there is one female and one male. Katniss and Peeta only had one mentor because Haymitch was the only living victor of District Katniss decides to have little to do with him. You just studied 25 terms! He is plotting and planning. He is not very smart. Both films ended in cliffhangers, setting up the next part in the series. At the end of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Katniss and Johanna are rolling a wire attached to a tree that lightning is going to strike down to the beach in order to electrocute some of the other tributes.
When Johanna and Katniss are suddenly ambushed, Johanna knocks Katniss out from behind. Johanna cuts open Katniss arm to remove her tracker. Then, Johanna runs away to draw the other tributes away. Katniss gets up and returns to the tree, where she finds Beetee knocked out.
